On Wednesday, May 11, at approximately 1:38 p.m. the Owensboro Police Department responded along with the Owensboro Fire Department to a structure fire located at 1704 Virginia Court.
First responders arrived to find the detached garage on fire.
The home was unoccupied; however a mail carrier who observed the fire received serious burns to his lower extremities when he attempted to put the fire out. That person was transported to a Louisville, KY hospital for treatment.
Detectives subsequently charged two male juveniles in connection with this incident.
