The Little Big Shots fundraiser for Volunteer Owensboro will be held this Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at TWO Empress Theatre in downtown Owensboro. The talent show will feature kids ages 12 and under and will be filmed for Spectrum Channel 8 in Owensboro. The public is invited to be a part of the live TV show audience to support Volunteer Owensboro. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door and ages under 5 are free.
“The show will be a variety of entertainment from local youth,” said Randy Lanham, Director of Volunteer Owensboro. “We have singers, songwriters, dancers, and musicians. Goldie Payne will be hosting the show and she has a special way of bringing out the best in our young entertainers. She will be the Steve Harvey of our version of Little Big Shots. So the crowd will get to know the kids before their performance.”
The show is a fundraiser for Volunteer Owensboro that directly helps local youth in volunteering experiences through school clubs and organizations. “We are directly involved in helping DCHS place their seniors in service projects coming up in May,” Lanham said. “We love working with youth to help them learn early the value of serving others. So this show will show off youth and help us to then connect local youth to volunteer in our community.”
