The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has reduced southbound traffic to one lane on the KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road Connecter where it crosses US 60 at the Owensboro Exit 19 Interchange.
The long-term temporary lane restriction, or lane drop, is along the KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road Connector where it crosses the US 60 Overpass. This means right-hand southbound lane of KY 603 will have to make the right turn onto the US 60 westbound entry ramp at the interchange. The left-hand lane of KY 603 will be restricted to one lane across the overpass to reach the left turn lane for the eastbound entry ramp or to proceed southward along Pleasant Valley Road.
The lane restriction was installed today.
This long-term temporary lane drop serves to avoid a forced merging of traffic going through the KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road intersection with the eastbound US 60 exit ramp which is being widened to add additional turn lanes with installation of a traffic signal.
Motorists who regularly travel KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector southbound at the US 60 Owensboro Exit 19 Interchange should be alert for changes in traffic flow this lane drop will create.
