Several UK legends will be signing two limited edition wildcat prints painted by Owensboro artist Aaron Kizer during the SEC tournament in Nashville. One is titled Final Four MVP and the second is titled All American.
The Final Four MVP prints will be signed by Jeff Sheppard (1998 Final Four MVP), Jack “Goose” Givens (1978 Final Four MVP), and Tony Delk (1996 Final Four MVP). The All American prints will be signed by Jack “Goose” Givens (1976-78 All American), Kenny “Sky” Walker (1985 and 86 All American) and Ron Mercer (1997 All American).
Aaron Kizer will sign and individually number each of the 500 prints. Prints are pre-selling for $65 for each print or $110 for both, and are available through the BBN Legends website http://bbnlegends.com/event-registration.
“We’re always looking for fun projects to connect former UK players with fans,” said Adam Goldstein, founder of BBN Legends. “We try to partner with Kentucky artists too, so we’re excited to work with Aaron Kizer on this project.”
This opportunity arose when Goldstein saw Aaron paint at a charity event for Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital at Rupp Arena following UK vs Arkansas. “We had several people mention Aaron’s work to us, especially the (Alex) Poythress piece, so when I saw him that night I knew we wanted to work with him,” Goldstein said. Kizer was more than happy for the chance to be involved with some of the UK greats. “I’m always excited about the opportunity to paint for a living. Painting something that has to do with UK basketball just makes it that much better.”
BBN Legends will have a pop-up store (located at 3rd Ave & Broadway) during the SEC tournament in Nashville next weekend, where the Final Four MVP and All American prints will be revealed to the public during the signings. “If buyers are not at the SEC tourney, they can pick up their prints at the KizerArts studio in Owensboro, or we have shipping options as well,” Goldstein said.
