The Kentucky Mavericks signed Philpot native, Matthew Karn, at their rookie/free agent camp held November 21 – 22.
Matthew Karn played his college ball at the University of Nebraska, where he played in 18 games over three years for the Cornhuskers. He stands 6’3″ and plays at the guard position.
About 40 men showed up for the tryouts. A statement released by the team this week said, “We felt like the turnout of 40 guys was fantastic. The competition was stiff and the selection was very difficult. We cannot wait until next year’s tryouts to see what other prospects might show up to tryout. We encourage all those who didn’t make the team to come back out to try to improve the 4-Time National Champion, Kentucky Mavericks.”
