Forty-four college scholarship awards were given to regional students for the 2016-2017 academic year from the various scholarship funds housed at the Green River Area Community Foundation. Awards totaling $78,250 were given from the funds listed below. Each scholarship recipient is selected by criteria designated by the individual fund and reviewed by their respective scholarship committee.

Bill and Mary Brey Ag Scholarship recipients are Blake Ward, who attends Owensboro Community and Technical College; and Brent Graham, who attends Western Kentucky University.
BOLD PROMISE Scholarship was awarded to Mason Lanham, who attends Owensboro Community and Technical College; and Cole Hamilton and John Jones, who attend Western Kentucky University.
The Charles A. Reid Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Robert Mitchell, who will attend Brescia University.
Clay V. and Jennie Ree Watson Scholarship was awarded to Shelby Burden, who attends Western Kentucky University; Makayla Level, who attends the University of Kansas; and Autumn Rickard, who attends Owensboro Community and Technical College.
The Dunaway Scholarship Fund recipients are Alexis Means, who attends Bluegrass Community and Technical College; Christopher Simmons and Hallie Popham, who attend Brescia University; Blake Garvin, who attends the University of Kentucky; Melanie Husk, who attends Murray State University; Briana Nix and Kaylah Hall, who attend Owensboro Community and Technical College; Makayla Claiborne, who attends the University of Evansville; Abigail Gibson, who attends the University of Kentucky; Lindsey Hagman, who attends the University of Louisville; Sydney Schadd, Megan Meredith, Taylor Hillard, Carsan Logsdon, Cheyenne Seaton, and Bradley Orr, who all attend Western Kentucky University.
Flat Branch Scholarship was awarded to Melanie Robertson, who attends Murray State University.
Francis and Deva Manders Scholarship was awarded to Jacob Hicks and Autumn Rickard, who attend Owensboro Community and Technical College.
The Mason Family Foundation Scholarship recipients and the universities they attend are: Jessica Burk and Cameron Chappell, Brescia University; Kyle Beavin, University of Louisville; Dalten Garrison, Briana Nix, and Wesley Nevitt, Owensboro Community and Technical College; Alexis Means, Bluegrass Community and Technical College; Makayla Claiborne, University of Evansville; and Orianna Smithson, Savannah College of Art and Design.
The Scott and Ruth Holder Scholarship was awarded to Chika Turner, Ciera Reyna, Labree White, Karina Delgadillo, and Adair Henderson, who all attend Kentucky Wesleyan College.
The Steve Hughes Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Autriana Cozee who attends Asbury University.
Students for Success Scholarship was awarded to Michael Wedding, who attends Western Kentucky University.
Students interested in applying to our scholarship program may view the available scholarships and their guidelines at www.cflouisville.org. Most scholarship applications can be submitted beginning early 2017, with deadlines mid-March.
