For Jaye Moseley Evans, 35 years has flown by. She says this may be because she has always been committed to the ever-changing fashion scene. “I’m constantly fine-tuning our selection and mix so that I have never, ever been bored,” Jaye said. “We have tried to evolve and adapt to whatever is ‘happening,’ but at the same time stay the same by being consistent in our quality service and merchandise. When you walk into Excursions, you will always be surprised by the latest fashions but one thing you can always expect is a friendly face and all the help you need to look your very best.”
Everyone at Excursions has done a lot of reminiscing while preparing for their birthday party on March 22. “It has been so much fun to look at old pictures and see how the fashions have come and gone – and come back again. We’ve cultivated our loyal customers over the years and so many are just like family,” Jaye said.
Today, brick and mortar retail is especially challenging. But, Excursions continues to adapt to the new landscape and remains a “go-to” spot for modern fashion in Owensboro.
Excursions celebrates their anniversary each March, but every five years they have a big party! Excursions is very grateful for the support of the community so they want to give back. The store sponsors a charity every Christmas and this year for their 35th, they are selling commemorative t-shirts with the proceeds going to benefit Crossroads To Hope Shelter. They invite everyone to join them from 5 – 9 p.m. Thursday, March 22 for an evening of music, food from Pizza Roma, and reminiscing!
