Two Daviess County High School student-athletes signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the post-secondary level during a signing ceremony Friday, April 14, 2017, in the media center at Daviess County High School.

“These young ladies have tremendous dedication to both academics and the sport of archery,” said DCHS archery coach Mike Wilson. “It has been a pleasure to be able to coach these amazing archers and it is an honor to be a part of the first-ever college archery scholarship commitments in Daviess County. I wish them much success in the future.”

Bailee Jones and Michaela McDonald will join the Patriots Archery Team at the University of the Cumberlands this fall. Bailee and Michaela had a tremendous indoor archery season this year with both archers claiming podium finishes at several regional tournaments as well as the Kentucky State Championship tournament. This earned them both numerous college scholarships, which resulted in their choosing to continue their educations as well as their archery careers at the University of the Cumberlands.

Bailee and Michaela, along with their team, will round out this season by competing in several upcoming regional 3D tournaments as well as the Kentucky state 3D tournament. The girls will end their high school archery season in June at the outdoor 3D National Tournament in Metropolis, Ill.
