The Greater Owensboro Area Crime Stoppers organization has seen excellent results in recent years with tips that have assisted local law enforcement agencies in solving crime. Now, they are announcing more ways for the community to send in their anonymous tips.

The Crime Stoppers board has partnered with an organization called TipSoft which has provided them with the capability to receive tips electronically. If you have information about a crime, you can now submit a tip in one of three new ways:

  1.  Follow the “submit a tip” link on the following sites to submit a web tip: Facebook.com/Owensboro-Crime-Stoppers Facebook.com/OwensboroPolice www.owensboro.org/police (Crime Stoppers section)
  2. Citizens can also utilize sms texting on their cell phone to quickly send their tip by texting “tip8484 plus your tip” to the following number – 274637 (Crimes). Your standard texting rates apply.
  3. Download the Tip Submit Mobile application directly to your phone.

All of the tipsters personal information is removed before the tip is routed to the Crime Stoppers group. So if you have the capability to access one of these new media outlets, you can now pass along that important part of the puzzle needed to help solve crime.

And as always, you can still dial 270-687-8484 to leave your anonymous tip. For more information about TipSoft, visit their website at www.tipsoft.com.
