If you’re looking for something fun and different to do with the kids over Spring Break, Cecil Farms has an interesting option with a first-time event they’re calling “Seed Day.”
On Thursday, April 6, 2017, Cecil’s invites you to come to the farm to get your hands dirty during Seed Day. “Basically, we’re inviting everybody to come out, plant some seeds, and learn while you’re having fun,” says Suzanne Cecil White, of Cecil Farms Produce. “Plus, you get the satisfaction of watching the seeds you plant grow.”
Kids will experience first hand how farms get their seeds started. They can even use the experience to get their own garden started.
Suzanne says guests are welcome to bring their own seeds, but Cecil Farms will have plenty on hand to plant. “You can take the planted seeds with you, or you’re welcome to keep them here in our greenhouse the first couple weeks and come back to get them in May when they’ve sprouted. Either way.”
Cost is $10/person over age 2 or max $30/family (5 or less persons).
Official start time for Seed Day is 10am, Thursday, April 6, and lasts until 2pm, but it’s a come and go event.
Cecil Farms Produce is located in western Daviess County at 9408 Mulligan Road. 42301. Check out the Facebook Event Page.
