Regional Water Resource Agency (RWRA) is hosting the fourth annual rain barrel construction workshop July 24 and 25, 2017.
The workshops will be presented by University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service Specialists and will be held at RWRA Joseph Murphy Operations Building located at 2101 Grimes Avenue on the corner of Grimes Avenue and East Parrish.
Registration fee is $20, which includes one rain barrel. (Must complete workshop to receive barrel.)
The workshop will cover:
- how to make a rain barrel
- construction of a rain barrel
- how to use and manage the rain barrel
Workshop sessions (choose one) will be:
- Monday, July 24 (evening session) – 6pm-8:30pm
- Tuesday, July 25 (morning session) – 9am-11:30am
Bryan Henderson, with RWRA Engineering, says the workshop has been so popular they decided to add an evening session to accommodate those with working schedules. “The first year we had one class and limited it to 40 participants and it sold out. Right now we have 25 spots available in the morning and evening sessions and I expect we will sell out again,” he said.
Barrels are limited. Registration deadline is Friday, July 21, 2017.
Your check, with class session noted on check, must be either mailed or hand delivered to the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Service Office at 4800A New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303 to ensure your registration in one of the class sessions.
