Back Alley Musicals will hold auditions for She Loves Me on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m., and Monday, Sept. 12, 7 p.m., at Third Baptist Church, 527 Allen Street (entrance off the south parking lot).
She Loves Me is a lighthearted musical comedy that opens BAM’s 7th season Nov. 10-13, in the Jody Berry Theatre at RiverPark Center. Constantly at odds with each other while on the job, sparring co-workers Georg and Amalia are unaware that each is the other’s secret pen pal they met through lonely-hearts ads. Through their letters, they have been falling for each other, but will love continue to blossom once their identities are revealed?
Auditions will be held for six males (including one teenage) and two females plus ensemble cast members. Those auditioning should come prepared to sing from the appropriate music scores posted on the Back Alley Musicals website at backalleymusicals.net
An accompanist will be provided during auditions.
Sean Mooningham, President of the Muhlenberg Community Theatre, Inc., will be directing She Loves Me, while music educator Corey Cellurale will be the music director. The music is by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joe Masteroff. Basis: Miklos Laszio’s play Parfumerie.
