Cromwell Radio is taking a unique approach to Street Relief this year.
Local Celebrity Apprentice is a 5-week event beginning March 21, 2016, where five teams will compete for five weeks to raise the most money for their assigned Street Relief charity. Owensboro Digital will release videos of each team’s progress and teamwork throughout the five weeks.
The community will have their chance to vote on who gets fired by donating to Street Relief.
The five Street Relief charities are Boulware Mission, Daniel Pitino Shelter, Oasis, Owensboro Regional Recovery Center (part of Audubon-Area Community Services) and St. Benedict’s Shelter.
Fundraising Weeks:
- Week 1: March 21
- Week 2: March 28
- Week 3: April 4
- Week 4: April 11
- Week 5: April 18
Rules of the Game:
- No more than five members per team.
- Teams pick their Team Leader.
- Team goal is to raise $10,000 for charity.
- Each team is expected to host one fundraiser per week and sell a minimum of 50 Gala tickets.
Teams will be judged on:
- Most money raised per event.
- Highest ticket sales (tallied April 26).
- Public votes on who to fire (votes count against the team).
The Board Room:
A Board Room Review with the “Donald” will be held on Mondays following each fundraising week. “Donald” will review each team’s performance and the total amount raised from the previous week’s event. One Team Leader will be fired and that team will have to vote on a new team leader. Team Leaders will continue in their position until fired. Fired Team Leaders are ineligible to become the Team Leader again for the remainder of Local Celebrity Apprentice 2016.
The Finale:
The Finale will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center during the Street Relief Gala on April 30, 2016. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the Gala begins with a cocktail hour and appetizers followed by a 30-minute cake auction and dinner. The Roast of Goldie Payne will begin as dessert is being served, lasting 30-45 minutes. The Local Celebrity Apprentice Finale will be live on stage with “Donald” and his advisors. The winning team will be chosen after a video montage of the entire 5-week event. Once the winners are announced, a band will come on stage and the dance floor will be opened for those who want to dance.
