The Family Resource Center and cafeteria staff of West Louisville Elementary School, along with community partners at Lowe’s Home Improvement, are sponsoring a special event at the school starting at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.
Lowe’s is providing do-it-yourself toy kits, which will be constructed by WLES children at a special “Santa’s Workshop” in the school cafeteria.
Fathers and other male role models who participate in the school’s “Watch D.O.G.S.” program (Dads of Great Students) will be on hand to assist with hammers and nails.
Students who complete the toy projects will have the option to keep their creations or donate them to Christmas baskets, which will be distributed to local families in need. All participating students will receive a certificate, Santa hat and a special badge, and a candy cane.
Our media partners are invited to visit Santa’s Workshop at WLES, 8400 Kentucky 56, for this special event. For more information, contact FRC coordinator Heather McCarty at 270-852-7650 or [email protected]
