Wendell Foster, a local non-profit agency serving people with disabilities, will be hosting a free community outdoor concert on May 19. The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra’s 2nd Street Big Band is coming to Wendell Foster’s Sensory Park for the Big Band Glow in the Park Party.  The outdoor concert will begin with picnicking in the park at 6:30 with food and drinks available for purchase.  The 2nd Street Big Band will play instrumental and vocal hits from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s that are sure to keep your toes taping throughout the night.

There will be plenty of excitement and fun as a couple of programs here at Wendell Foster will be raising money for summer vacations and activities. You can purchase glow-in-the-dark jewelry and glow sticks for $1 each, and  pulled pork sandwich with chips and drink for $5. Bring a lawn chair or purchase a table for eight for only $100. Table reservations can be made by calling Wendell Foster, (270) 683-4517. Tables are limited, so don’t delay in making your plans.

“Wendell Foster is a special place and this free community concert is great opportunity to spend the evening with friends and family in an amazing setting. With instrumental and vocals, you’ll hear a little bit of everything from big band standards like Glenn Miller to hits from today like Bruno Mars,” said Sara Jackson, Marketing Director at OSO.

“We hope to see lots of families enjoying the atmosphere of our Sensory Park and the lively music as there will be plenty of excitement and fun,” said Jeff Hagan, Marketing Director at Wendell Foster.

For additional information, contact Wendell Foster at (270) 683-4517. Wendell Foster is located at 815 Triplett Street, Owensboro, Kentucky. Off- street parking for the event will be on Ninth Street.
