The Owensboro Police Department will be out in force as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrations annual “U Drive – U Text – U Pay” campaign on distracted driving. Our enforcement efforts will take place from April 1st through April 30th, 2015 in recognition of April being designated as National Distracted Driving Awareness month.
The Owensboro Police Department Patrol Division will use high-visibility enforcement and checkpoints to bring local awareness to the safety issues involved with texting and driving. Our efforts will be supplemented with NHTSA’s national radio, television, and social media ads.
