Kentucky Gubernatorial Candidates Matt Bevin and Jack Conway are both confirmed to speak at the Chamber of Commerce’s Red, White and Blue Picnic presented by AT&T this Thursday, October 29, 2015. The picnic will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. CST on the Daviess County Courthouse Lawn. All other major party candidates are confirmed except for Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.
Red White and Blue is a non-partisan, family friendly event hosted by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce with presenting sponsor AT&T. It is a culmination of the Chamber’s GO Vote!!! Campaign. The premise of GO Vote!!! is to encourage all eligible voters to vote. “Exercising the right to vote is not only a privilege, it is an obligation,” said Candance Castlen Brake, President and CEO. “The Chamber wants all citizens to participate in the process. Owensboro is often disregarded in statewide conversations. In order to have a seat at the table, we need to demonstrate that we are paying attention. Voting is a fundamental way for most citizens to be able to join together and give Owensboro a voice.”
The Red, White and Blue Picnic is an opportunity to meet the major party candidates for state offices and to hear from each about their positions and policy initiatives. Each candidate will have three minutes to speak. Each gubernatorial candidate will have 5 minutes. Challengers will speak first. In races without incumbents, the candidates will speak in alphabetical order.
Food and Beverage Vendors will be there.
