Patrick Tines, Assistant Principal at Owensboro Middle School North has been selected as the Associate Principal of Owensboro Middle School South. After seeking input from the Owensboro Middle School Site-Based Council, OMS Principal George Powell selected Tines as associate principal. Tines was introduced as associate principal-elect to the Owensboro Middle School South staff at their meeting today at the Owensboro Middle School Media Center. Tines replaces John DeLacey who is taking over as Owensboro High School principal in July.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be the associate principal of OMS South. I spent a year there as an assistant principal and know it’s full of great people. I’m excited about continuing to move the school forward with tradition, innovation and excellence in mind,” said Patrick Tines, OMS South Associate Principal-Elect.
The council interviewed five candidates earlier this week. Of those candidates, three were internal and two were external. Tines will take over as associate principal in July. Tines began his career with OPS as a teacher at Owensboro High School in 2001. He was an assistant principal at OMS South in 2012-13 and has been at OMS North since 2013.
