Park Shelters
Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting reservations for park shelters located at Legion, Moreland, English, Ben Hawes Parks and the gazebos at Cap Gardner Nature Park and Old Germantown Park for the year of 2017.
Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance for any shelter April 1-October 31, 2017between the hours of 7 a.m.-9 p.m. and must be paid in full at the time of reservation. This is a first come first serve basis.
Shelters can be reserved for up to 4 hours for only $35. Each additional hour after 4 hours is an extra $10. With exception, Ben Hawes Park shelters are $60 each.
Reservations can be made by calling the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administrative Center at 270-687-8700 or by visiting the Administrative Center in person Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.The Administrative Center is located at 1530 McJohnson Avenue, next to Combest Pool.
Smothers Park Event and Party Reservations
Looking for that special place for a wedding, reunion, birthday party or group gathering?
Smothers Park offers various locations to rent for that memorable moment!
- The OVERLOOK is located at the foot of Frederica Street with breath-taking views and lighting;
- the EVENT LAWN is a beautiful green area located on the west side near the signature fountain;
- or the ALLEN STREET PAVILION location overlooks the Ohio River.
- There are also various KIOSKS locations available for rent as well.

Edge Ice Center – 2017 Birthday Party Packages
The City of Owensboro’s Edge Ice Center is the coolest place in town to host your child’s next birthday party. Three different packages are available to choose from and can take place during any public skate session.
- Classic Package: (up to 10 guests), includes private party room, admission and skate rental, popcorn and FREE passes, birthday child t-shirt and goody bag. ONLY $97.00. Additional guest will cost $9.50.
- Extreme Package (up to 10 guests), includes private party room, admission and skate rental, birthday cake, popcorn, hot dogs and soft drinks and FREE passes, birthday child t-shirt and goody bag. ONLY $127.00. Additional guest will cost $12.50.

2017 Pool Birthday Party Packages
Celebrate your birthday with a Pool Party. We have 3 party packages available:
- Bronze Package: $7 per person – up to 10 guests (includes admission, drink and nachos), FREE pool admission for 2 adults, unlimited open swim for each guest, reserved table to serve cake and open presents, FREE pool pass for each guest – up to 10 guests. Party must be held during Public Swim Hours.
- Silver Package: $115/hour (minimum of 2 hours), private use of the pool, certified lifeguards and an underwater camera for the birthday child. Non-alcoholic beverages and food are allowed to be brought in for the party.
- Gold Package includes: private use of pool for 2 hours. $285 (up to 10 guests) and includes a hot dog, chips and drink. includes: certified lifeguards and a personal party attendant, an underwater camera for birthday child, cupcakes from “The Cupcakery (up to 10 guests), each additional guest $10 and a $50 non-refundable deposit required.
