Starting in June 2016, Owensboro Health and Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County chapter will be teaming up to build two homes. The groundbreakings for both homes will take place June 24 at 11 a.m. at 906 Hall St. and 910 Hall St. in Owensboro.
The two homes will be constructed simultaneously on land donated by Owensboro Health. The homes consist of a four-bedroom home for the Swanagan family at 906 Hall Street, and a three-bedroom home for the Blevins family at 910 Hall Street. Construction will begin immediately and will continue over the next four months through a combination of work by skilled Habitat for Humanity workers, local volunteer contractors, and Owensboro Health employees who volunteer their time.
Owensboro Health is not a stranger to Habitat projects. In 2005, the system sponsored a Habitat house on McFarland Avenue, and in 2010, Owensboro Health donated land along Ninth Street for a Habitat home.
Owensboro Health’s sponsorship will mark homes 127th and 128th built by the Owensboro – Daviess County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
