The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra announced their “grand slam giveaway” promotion for Subscription Series season ticket holders today.
Beginning immediately, and continuing through the Symphony’s performance at Concert on the Lawn on August 8th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Kentucky Wesleyan College, any person who becomes a season subscriber to the Symphony’s Fiftieth Season will be entered to win the Cape Air Cardinal Home-Run Getaway package. All persons who have either renewed their season tickets or become new season subscribers to the Symphony prior to this announcement will be automatically entered to win. Winners of the getaway package will be notified on Monday, August 10.
Cape Air’s Cardinal Home-Run Getaway will fly one lucky Symphony Subscription Series Subscriber and a guest roundtrip from Owensboro to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals take on the Miami Marlins on August 15, 2015. The winner of the package will enjoy the game from the comfort of the Bank of America Club with complimentary food and drinks. The package also includes a one night stay at the Hilton Ballpark Hotel and limo service to and from the airport.
When it was reported that Cape Air must average 653 flights out of Owensboro monthly through September for the airport to remain part of the federal Essential Air Service program, the Symphony reached out to the airport and Cape Air asking if there was anything it could do to help promote the Keep Owensboro Flying Campaign. Officials from Cape Air, Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport and the St. Louis Lambert International Airport immediately accepted the Symphony’s offer and the parties came together to form a working relationship.
“Both Cape Air and the Symphony have a desire to fill seats before the end of September,” said Dan Griffith, CEO for the Owensboro Symphony. “We are partnering together to make a difference for both of our organizations. Cape Air’s service to Owensboro is so valuable to our community and we wanted to reach out to the airport and Cape Air in support of this summer’s Keep Owensboro Flying Campaign. This is another example of our efforts to be fully engaged in the needs of the whole community.”
