The Daviess County Public Library, in conjunction with Highland Elementary School, is collecting items for the Archangel Troop 1-32 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, KY.
The Archangel Troop was adopted by Owensboro in 2002 through an Adopt-a-Unit Program. The unit served during the Battle of the Bulge, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Donation bins will be placed in the library foyer through Friday, March 13. Items will be sent to the troops who are deployed or in training.
“We did this same donation drive last year and had tremendous success!” said DCPL Interim Director, Leslie McCarty.
As an added incentive, anyone who donates an item will get a coupon for a free book from The Book End. Those who donate can get the coupon from the first floor information desk.

- Books
- Magazines
- Gum
- Lip Balm
- Sunscreen
