Owensboro Health pharmacists will be staffing an Operation Diabetes booth Wednesday, July 8th at Harvest Market, providing health screenings and resources for prediabetes and diabetes patients free of charge.
Operations Diabetes is a national campaign which was launched as an official American Pharmacist Association National Patient Care project in 2001. Since that time, over 400,000 individuals have been screened for abnormal blood glucose levels.
Harvest Market takes place every Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. through September 2, 2015 at Owensboro Health (1201 Pleasant Valley Road.) During Harvest Market on Wednesday, July 8th, Owensboro Health staff will be testing any community members who are at risk free of charge and providing information on the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) offered at Owensboro Health.
Daviess County Community Access Project (DC-CAP) will also be on hand. Owensboro Health is partnering with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, as well as the Diabetes Resource Center, Daviess County Community Access Program (DC-CAP), and Daviess County Diabetes Coalition to make this possible.
