Summer programming continues at Daviess County Public Library. Here’s a rundown:
June 29 @ 6 p.m. – Author Presentation
Kentucky Author J.D. Wilkes will be discussing his book Barn Dances & Jamborees Across Kentucky and will be playing banjo tunes from his own repertoire.
June 30 @ 6 p.m. – Live Music
Wild Mountain Thyme pays tribute to America’s birthday with special selections of patriotic music.
July 6 from 1-4 p.m. – Get into Character!
Join us for an afternoon of your favorite princesses, superheroes, and other characters. Fairy Dust Entertainment will be at the library for photo opportunities, crafts and other activities. Come dressed in costume.
July 7th All Day – Adult Drop-In Craft
Drop-in to decorate your own can cover for the summer months. We will have Sharpies, stickers and gems for you to make the most fabulous drink koozies summer has ever seen!
July 12 @ 1 p.m. – Teen Craft: Tie Dye
Teens, join us at the library to make your own brilliant tie-dyed t-shirt for the summer. All supplies, including basic white tees, will be provided. Please let us know what size t-shirt you will need when you call to register.
July 13 from 2-3 & 3-4 p.m. – Fancy Nancy Sand Party
Children 6-12 Years old are welcome to dress p for a formal sand castle building party!
July 14th @ 6 p.m. – Beyond the Lines Coloring Club
Join us for a fun night as Brandon Miles from All Around the Dinner Table performs lives music while you relax. The library will provide coloring pages, but you will need to bring your own coloring utensils. There will be other activities including a large community puzzle, large community coloring sheet, UNO cards and several decks of normal playing cards.
July 16th @ 10 a.m. – Storytelling with Octavia Sexton
Octavia Sexton, a native of Eastern Kentucky, will be joining us to share her rich storytelling traditions. During this two-hour workshop, Octavia will lead participants in creating their own stories, using storytelling techniques to tell the story, and finally getting up and moving around to act it out.
