The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph will host their second “Get Moving at the Mount 5K Run/Walk” on Saturday, May 30 at 8 a.m. (registration begins at 7:15 a.m.) This scenic route with the sisters is the perfect family outing for runners and walkers of all ages. It will take place on the grounds and nearby roads of the Ursuline Motherhouse in Maple Mount, Ky., which is located 12 miles west of Owensboro on Highway 56.

This is the official 5K for the Daviess County Bicentennial celebration.

Online registration is available: www.ursulinesmsj.org/help-the-sisters/5k. The fee is $20 until May 1 and then $25 through race day. Please register by May 11 to be guaranteed a race T-shirt.

You can choose to run/walk in honor of or in memory of a sister for an additional $10. Participants will receive an armband with that sister’s name on it to wear during the race. Another great show of support is to sponsor a sister to participate in the race for a $20 fee (or $25 after May 1).

The race will be chip timed. Race packets will be available for pick up at the Brescia University Bookstore in Owensboro the week before the race, or they can be picked up on the day of the event. All proceeds will support the mission of the Ursuline Sisters. For more information, contact Dan Heckel at 270-229-2007 or [email protected]
