An anonymous tip given to OPD through the “Crime Stoppers” Hotline led to the arrest Tuesday of a person of interest in an armed robbery, Owensboro Police Information Officer Michael Hathaway reported. The tip led them to the suspect, who was interviewed by detectives and subsequently charged.
The robbery occurred on Sunday, January 11th, at the Kangaroo Express, located at 2737 W. Parrish Avenue. OPD began the investigation at approximately 11:36 p.m. after it was reported by the store clerk that an unknown male entered the store armed with a firearm and demanded money and merchandise. That subject then left on foot. There were no injuries reported.
