The Owensboro-Daviess County Central Dispatch Center works around the clock to serve the community. They now have new technology which will help them provide even better service in the event of an emergency.
When first put in place, the Emergency Notification Alert system allowed dispatchers to send phone messages to your land line phone related to emergencies in your neighborhood. It has recently been enhanced to include cellular phones and VoIP systems.
Getting vital information out to the public during an emergency response by police, fire, and EMS is always an important step in mitigating the number of citizens that may be put in harm’s way. By registering your cellular or VoIP phone, you will be able to receive important messages concerning emergencies that may affect you. Each cellular or VoIP phone number can be registered to a maximum of five locations.
