This year will mark Daviess County Conservation District’s 2nd “Take a Kid Fishing Day” at Panther Creek Park on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
The day begins with a fishing derby from 9-11a.m. with prizes given out to age groups 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, and 12-15.
There will also be a Casting and Reeling competition for the same age groups.
Atmos Energy will provide lunch (hot dogs and chips) at 11 a.m.
Prizes will be given out at the Awards Ceremony after lunch. Prizes will be awarded for most fish, largest fish, and smallest fish in each age group.
Pre-registration is a $1 per child, which includes lunch and a t-shirt, and $1 per adult which includes lunch.
Day of the event cost is $2 for both child/adult.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a limited quantity of poles to borrow along with bait.
Rain date is June 11.
