To celebrate the Healthpark’s 16th anniversary, Owensboro Health is inviting runners and walkers of all ages to the Healthpark this Saturday, September 27 for the Healthpark Anniversary Run. This is the second year for this race and offers a 5K walk/run, 15K run and a .5 mile kids fun run. Proceeds will benefit school health programs and all events begin and end at the Healthpark on 1006 Ford Avenue in Owensboro. Awards will follow each event along with music, door prizes, exercise demonstrations and free drinks and snacks.
Registration is available at the Healthpark, online at active.com or on race day. The race fees are $30 for the 5K Run and Walk and $40 for the 14k. The Medicus Kids Fun Run is free and the school with the most participants wins a $500 wellness grant! Door prizes for the event include 6 youth bikes and helmets from The Owensboro Health Foundation and Legends, 4 Polar watches, 4 30 minute massages and Healthpark memberships for 1 year, 6 months, 3 months and 1 month.
