In the interest of human health and safety, a pyrotechnic event, which is part of the City of Owensboro’s blackbird control program, will take place October 7, 2014 at 1200 East Byers Avenue between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Justin Hamby, wildlife specialist with the U.S. Department of
Agriculture’s APHIS Wildlife Services, will set off pyrotechnics each evening. Residents in the area should expect the loud noises and flashing lights from the controlled pyrotechnics during that time.
