The Daviess County Public Schools district is hosting an information session for parents and guardians to outline the process of selecting a new superintendent. Current superintendent Owens Saylor has announced his intention to retire effective June 30.
The information session will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the DCPS Learning Center, 1700 Parrish Plaza Drive. Individuals who serve as parent-teacher organization officers and parent representatives on school Site-Based Decision Making Councils are especially encouraged to attend, but the meeting is open to all interested persons.
The program will be facilitated by Dr. Jan Lantz of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators, who has been contracted by the DCPS Board of Education to serve as team leader for the search process. The program will provide an overview of the process, including a projected timeline. Information about nominating a parent to serve as a member of the screening committee will also be shared.
Light refreshments will be served.
