Just after World Cup fever has started to subside, seven Owensboro young people have been named to the US Youth Futsal National Team.

After making the regional selections from 12 states in the Midwest, 21 young people from Owensboro were sent to Kansas City to try out for the national team. Our finalists were: Graham Miller (U16 Male), Madallyn Peeveler and Auburn Settles (U16 Females), and Shelby Helton, Bobbi Sandifur, Natalie Hinchecliffe, and Annie Stauffer (14 Yr Females).
Stauffer says the National Team will be taking an overseas trip around Christmas, probably to a South American country like Guatemala or Costa Rica.
