“This is a moment in time that I wanted to capture,” says local artist Nathan Morris, who recorded a live album at The Crème Coffee House last month. The album is set for an October release. “I may never do a live album again. Not many artists ever do it.”
To capture that moment, Morris set his sights on The Crème, who were happy for the opportunity. “They were totally on board and extremely supportive,” Morris said. “I definitely wanted to record this show in downtown Owensboro so my friends and family could be there. I chose The Crème because it is a local business that supports local music. Plus it has a fantastic vibe and it’s the perfect size for what I wanted that night to be.”
Morris says a live album is a chance to give new life to some of the earlier songs that got it all started. The mixing and mastering are complete so it’s down to the finishing touches like deciding on song order and approving final masters.
