OWENSBORO, KY (April 20, 2015) – Owensboro Health has renamed its medical group to One Health, a move that reflects the group’s recent growth, new capabilities and goals, said the health system’s president and CEO.
One Health is the new name of the medical group, which includes more than 140 physicians and allied health providers across more than 25 specialties. The medical group’s presence spans more than 15 clinics and satellite facilities across 14 counties in Kentucky and Indiana.
Philip Patterson, president and CEO of Owensboro Health, said the renaming reflects the aims and goals of the medical group in the years to come following massive growth in its total number of providers, an increase of nearly 50 percent since January 1, 2012. It will not have any effect on the cost of care or on the types of insurance the health system accepts. The renaming is effective as of April 20, 2015.
“We chose One Health because we wanted our name to reflect our aim to make health care simple to access, receive and understand,” Patterson said. “We want to offer one point of contact, tied to one health system, ranked No. 1 for quality of care in our region.”
