Both Owensboro Municipal Utilities and Kenergy have reported that scammers are contacting their customers. This has happened before but what makes it unique is the Caller ID associated with the phone call. Both utility companies numbers are being shown.
OMU says they will not request account or payment information by calling you. So they ask that customers not provide account or payment information if contacted. Kenergy also asks customers not to give out any information about their account to anyone who calls. Kenergy does not call homes or businesses and ask for payment over the phone or threaten to disconnect electricity.
