Head downtown on December 2 for the Holiday Stroll — families can enjoy a scavenger hunt, meeting Santa & Mrs. Claus, a reindeer, the lighting of the Owensboro Christmas tree, a 5K, free admission to Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts and much more.
Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt
Returning for another year- the Holiday Stroll and Seek “Elf on the Shelf” Scavenger Hunt! Register at the Owensboro-Daviess Co. Convention and Visitors Bureau (215 E. 2nd St.) beginning at 3pm. You will have until 6pm to register and until 7pm to complete the scavenger hunt.
Elves will be hidden around downtown and we’re asking you to help us find them! Grand prize winner will receive a Nashville weekend getaway for two, including tickets to “Cirque Dreams Holidaze” at the Gaylord Grand Ole Opry House and a two-night stay at the Embassy Suites!
*The Scavenger Hunt is NOT A RACE! A winner will be randomly chosen from those who find the required number of elves. Take your time and enjoy the Stroll while keeping your eyes open for hidden elves!
The Reindeer Experience
This event will occur between the hours of 10am – 2pm & 3 – 7 pm. Santa, Mrs. Clause and Prancer will have a one hour lunch break, then reopen for the Holiday Stroll which occurs between 3 – 7 pm. New this year is Prancer’s companion friend, a miniature horse for the children to pet. Be sure to bring you phones & cameras to take photos!
Cost: Normal museum admission from 10am – 2pm with the reindeer experience included in admission. Between 3. – 7pm cost is $5.00 for the reindeer experience, but no museum admission is charged.

Milk & Cookies with Santa
Come join L&R Photography at 206 West 3rd St. as they participate in this year’s holiday stroll downtown by offering pictures with Santa. Kids can come decorate cookies and have milk and cookies with Jolly Old St. Nick. There will also be crafts for kids and parents to do together for the holiday and Conceptual Designs will be on hand taking Christmas orders for all those holiday needs. Santa will also be bringing a few guests with him this year.
3rd Annual Reindeer Run 5K presented by Care Net Owensboro
Support the mission of Care Net Owensboro with a 5K at 9am, a fun and festive event for the whole family! Deck yourselves out in your most festive attire and join for a fun-filled morning of running, walking, and merriment. Cash prizes are awarded for the top male & female runners, but you don’t have to be fast to win big!
