They will also be showcasing a new piece called “Troika” a new all male trio about the power of three.” Lehrer Dance is known for their power and the athleticism they bring to the dance world. This concert is sure to give Owensboro a taste of something one would likely see in the theaters of New York City!
Also new to the concert this year is the Community Connect Dance Project. Dancers from schools in the surrounding area will be joining Owensboro Dance Theatre to perform the opening number for the concert, choreographed by Jon Lehrer! This project was developed to bring dancers throughout the community together, bridging diversity through dance. Dance is a universal language, understood by and connecting all individuals regardless of physical or social characteristics. Over fifty students from our high schools will take the stage together, showcasing their talent and passion for the art of dance. These dancers will work one on one with a world-renowned choreographer, being exposed to his years of experience, knowledge, and success while he mentors each dancer to follow their dreams.
