Organizers of the Homeless Awareness event are inviting everyone in the community to join them for a night to raise awareness for those in Owensboro who live in shelters or on the streets.
The event will be from 10am Saturday, October 14, 2017, to Sunday, October 15, 2017, on the front lawn of the Munday Center, which is located at 1650 W. 2nd Street.
Promotional material on the event’s Facebook page invites those interested to camp out for 24 hours by bringing a tent, cardboard box, or just a blanket on the ground. No phones, no cars, and no more than $10 on your possession.
The suggested donation for the Homeless Awareness event is $100, which will be used to bless the less fortunate. But any donation or no donation at all is welcome.
