Now that the new Academy Sports + Outdoors in Owensboro is open, it is time to thank the community with a three-day celebration full of giveaways, interactive product demonstrations, games for the kids (and adults), plus opportunities to interact with pros who represent top brands sold at the store.
Friday, October 24 Events
- The first 100 customers (18 years or older) in line outside both stores at 8 a.m. will receive a free pair of Crocs (valued up to $39.99)
- Customers can register to win a George Strait autographed guitar and a $500 Academy gift card starting at 8 a.m.
- Masterbuilt’s John McLemore, author of the Dadgum That’s Good cookbooks, will provide samples and a grilling demonstration at the Owensboro store
Saturday, October 25 Events
- The first 100 customers (18 years or older) in line outside both stores at 8 a.m. will receive a free Berkley tackle bag (valued up to $29.99)
- Kids fish for free in the Shakespeare catch tank and can test their skills at the Team Sports Challenge
Sunday, October 26 Events
- The first 100 customers in line at 9 a.m. will receive a mystery Academy gift card, valued up to $500
- There will be free hot dogs and bottled water, plus hourly Academy gift card giveaways starting at noon
- From 1-2 p.m., customers can meet former Kentucky Wildcat star Kenny “Sky” Walker
