Terri Spencer, founder of Take the Leash Dog Training, will be holding a “Downtown Dog Walk” mini-training session this Saturday, October 17th at McConnell Plaza in Smothers Park from 10am – 1pm.

The Downtown Dog Walk will follow the perimeter of Smothers Park, stopping at the designated doggy areas along the way for the trainer to give tips on loose-leash walking, proper etiquette, and proper socialization when walking your dog in public places.

There will be two sessions, each with 10-15 dog/owners in attendance. Space is limited, so reservations are recommended.

Per city ordinance, all dogs will be required to be on a leash. The trainer is requesting no dogs with aggression issues be enrolled. However, she can setup a private consultation for those issues.

Cost is $12 per dog. All proceeds from the event will benefit Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Ky (SparKy), who will also be on site selling T-shirt and other items.

Those planning to attend Saturday’s Downtown Dog Walk training session are asked to email [email protected] so she can assign session times for each class.
