For the second straight year, the Owensboro Convention Center will host 4th Fest in conjunction with the 4th of July fireworks display. The event is sponsored by Specialty Foods Group. “We are excited to again be part of the downtown celebration,” said Dean Dennis, General Manager. “It was a popular event with the community last year, and we are glad to be partnering with Specialty Foods Group to present it again this year.”

On Saturday, July 4, from 4:00 p.m. until the fireworks display ends, 4th Fest will offer fun for the entire family. Admission is free and open to the public. Attendees will have access to all kinds of family-fun activities, including free games and prizes, bounce houses, face painting, and street chalk and coloring areas.

Attendees can also enjoy delicious All-American food and drinks such as hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad, desserts and more! “Offering an All-American menu is another fun way to tie into the 4th of July celebration for our guests” said Mark Pruett, the Director of Food and Beverage.

Reserved seating to watch the 4th of July fireworks display is available. Guests can reserve seats outside on the lower terrace behind the convention center. The seats are $5.00 per person or $40.00 for a table of 8, and are divided into two sections, an alcohol free section and an alcohol allowed section.

For those seeking a more upscale experience, VIP 3rd level inside seating will be available for $35.00 per person. The VIP tickets include a buffet dinner with dessert from 5pm-8pm and a cash bar.

Reservations for lower terrace and VIP seating are available now. They can be made online at www.OwensboroCenter.com or by calling 270-687-8800.

Also this year the City of Owensboro will be kicking-off the 4th of July activities with a Kids Bike Parade downtown at 5pm. Kids 12 and younger are encouraged to decorate any non-motorized vehicle (bicycle, scooter, wagon, etc.) and help get the festivities started. No pre-registration is required – just check-in at the corner of St. Elizabeth St. and Veterans Blvd. between 4:00pm – 4:45pm to join the parade. At the conclusion of the parade, all kids participating will receive a free patriotic light-up giveaway as well as free hot dog and drink at 4th Fest inside the Owensboro Convention Center.

“This is a great event for the family to teach kids the importance of our nation’s birthday and displaying our nation’s colors with pride while being part of a parade. We had a good turnout for the annual event last year with families enjoying the music downtown as well as an expansive play area for the kids inside the convention center. We look forward to a great turnout again this year” stated Tim Ross, Director of Public Events.

For the best vantage point for viewing the fireworks, All-American food, and activities for the entire family, join us for the 2015 4th Fest presented by Specialty Foods Group at the Owensboro Convention Center.
