Building Stronger Families is a child abuse prevention program that provides weekly home visits to families in the 7-county GRADD region.  BSF receives federal funding as a child abuse prevention program.  Working with families to educate on positive parenting, coping skills, developmental milestones helps prevent abuse and neglect.  Weekly visits consist of setting goals, screening children five and under for developmental delays, linking families to available community resources, educating on positive discipline and communication techniques.  During home visits parents are educated on positive parenting techniques using the ACTIVE PARENTING curriculum.  Building Stronger Families builds on families’ strengths to help them achieve goals.

Building Stronger Families believes that parents want to be the best parent they can be, but sometimes need some help to overcome daily obstacles.  BSF has been active helping families for over 18 years.  More than 74% of families have demonstrated positive changes in their parenting abilities.
