Do you have home footage of the 1986 Owensboro Christmas parade, or an early BBQ Festival?
What about video or photos from a local business or area of town that no longer exists?
The Daviess County Public Library is asking for the public’s help to build a local video archive called “memory lane.”
Once built, Memory Lane will be found under “Local History” in the Genealogy section on the DCPL website for future generations to enjoy.
Video submissions will be considered a donation to the library, but you can get your original copy back by filling out the “return” portion of the submission form. Donor’s names will be attributed to the footage donated unless otherwise specified. Any family footage you do NOT want submitted can be omitted.
Footage from all time periods will be accepted. Acceptable formats include:
- DVD
- VHS
- S-VHS
- 8mm
- 16mm film
A kick-off event is planned for Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at DCPL, featuring a showing of Windy Hollow Boys and Not Yet Generals by local filmmaker, Rick Miller.
